September 2018: Having recently been awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Laurier University, JOSH continues to develop his career with the Canadian Armed Forces. An alumnus of the Ceremonial Guard Band, JOSH has been promoted to Master Corporal. For the 100th anniversary of the armistice JOSH will be travelling to Belgium this November, as part of the official delegation that will commemorate Canadian contributions in the First World War.
Summer 2018: DARREN and SARAH recorded movement one (Prélude à deux) and movement four (Intermission) from Fernande Decruck’s Saxophonesques. This performance celebrates these rare and almost forgotten duets and appears to be the only recording on the Internet. Click here to watch.
Summer 2018: Having recently graduated with a Master of Music Degree in Performance from the University of Manitoba, freelance saxophonist DAVID is actively performing. He played last season with the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble and he continues to perform with the Royal Canadian Navy Band of HMCS Chippawa. He spent the summer at CFB Borden, teaching saxophone (and oboe!) for the music division of THE CFLTC (Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre).
Summer 2018: Scholarship recipient JESSE is continuing his studies in saxophone performance at the University of Toronto. He plays baritone saxophone in the Karisyg Quartet and is preparing to play the Pierre-Max Dubois Concerto in the school’s Concerto Competition.
July 2017: The Royal Conservatory of Music Practical Exam Results have been posted. Congratulations to VICTOR who achieved First Class Honours for Level 8 Saxophone and to ALEX who achieved First Class Honours with Distinction for Level 10 Saxophone.
